Oxygen Sensing in Vacuum

The Rapidox 2100 is extremely sensitive in vacuum operation.  It can be used as a vacuum detector or even as a vacuum leak detector.  The logarithmic nature of the sensor means that it is very sensitive to the slightest change in vacuum or to a small leak.  Far more sensitive than traditional vacuum gauges and no need to spend a fortune on a helium mass spectrometer!

Most industrial applications that work under vacuum usually do so because of the need to keep oxygen out of the system, for example the silicon chip industry.  In that case why are you measuring the strength of your vacuum when you really should be measuring the oxygen content?

The Rapidox sensor can be supplied with a special KF (25mm) or CF stainless steel flange adaptor for immediate fitting into a vacuum system.  This item is available at small extra cost.

Incredible sensitivity down to very low vacuum levels (less than 0.001 Torr)
Certified to be vacuum tight (Leak rate of the sensor has been measured at 1.6 x 10-7 mbarls-1 through the sensor when hot).
Excellent agreement with theoretical calculation of oxygen in vacuum.
Ultra sensitive to small leaks in a vacuum system which ordinary vacuum gauges will not detect.
Replaces the need to use a helium mass spectrometer
Can be used with the alarm settings to warn you of a failure in the state of vacuum.

The graph below shows real data taken from a vacuum pump fitted with a set of three calibrated vacuum gauges (represented by the different colors).  The straight line is a plot of the theoretical oxygen content and the individual points are taken from a Rapidox connected to the pump.
